September sales statistics have now been released for Maui so it's possible to compare the 2 markets of Maui & Kauai (see the table below). My view of the data is that the two counties are quite similar. Prices are holding up fairly well (and in some cases are up) although the number of sales have taken a huge hit. It's interesting that median prices for single family homes is about 6% higher on Kauai than on Maui; Kauai. I'll work on a chart for a future post of this type of data.

sold. This is not the same as the change in value of an individual
property. Data is deemed accurate but is not guaranteed and should not be
relied on for decisions on buying and selling.
