Kauai Rocks For Residents Who Don't Fear Change

In addition to Kauai being a great vacation spot, it's about to become a lot more friendly to our residents and their shopping needs.  Those of us living here have needs that are different from our valued and welcomed visitors.  Having lived here for 10 years, I know first hand the need to fly to other islands for shopping and then pay to have it shipped by barge back to Kauai (and wait for it's arrival).

Most of the new action is in Lihue and it includes those listed below.  Except for Safeway (the 2nd on Kauai), each is something unique for us.

Montage of New Stores Coming to Kauai

New Stores Coming to Lihue...Soon!

  • Safeway grocery store at Hokulei Village
  • Petco at Hokulei Village
  • Walgreens at Hokulei Village
  • Jack In The Box at Hokulei Village
  • Pier 1 Imports at Kukui Grove Center (in the prior Borders location)
  • Sports Authority at Kukui Grove Center (in the prior Sears-West location)
  • Ross Dress For Less at Kukui Grove Center (in the prior Sears-East location)
  • More...stay tuned!

Maybe Not Be Happening...

A new cinema with stadium seating was planned for Lihue but there's been no news or activity for a couple of years now.  Hollywood Theaters received Planning Commission approval in 2012 to build a 9-theater megaplex on Kauai that was to open mid 2013.  That timeframe has come and gone with no further word on it's status.  Perhaps the 2013 acquisition of Hollywood Theaters by Regal Entertainment has resulted in a change of plans.

Lihue is the place to be for those seeking convenience coupled with easy access to one of our stunning beaches at Kalapaki Bay.  Contact me to buy or sell in Lihue or anywhere else on Kauai.

Aloha!
