Rains End

We've had heavy rains for several days here on Kauai.  It stopped today and the clouds seemed to be lifting with a few remnants below the mountain tops.  The view is looking north toward Mount Waialeale.

Aloha & best wishes to all for a happy and prosperous 2011.

We had bad rain on Oahu but I hear your flooding was much worse.  Glad to hear you are drying out.

Fabulous photo! We have had some not-average winds, and cooler temps over the holiday, but not much rain - glad it's moving out.

Hi Randy, Tom, Maureen, & Carol.  Thanks for stopping by.  Last night was the first in many days that I didn't fall asleep to the sound of rain on the rooftop.  The sun isn't up yet but I'm hoping for blue skies.  Yesterday as I was driving throught the countryside, I couldn't help but notice the beauty of those white clouds below the mountain peaks.

Richard--thanks for the picture of your beautiful island of Kauai.  The rain makes the lush greenery the island is famous for.

Enjoy

But even with all that rain, the temperatures must still be glorious!  I remember the sound of rain on the metal roof, at a friend's house there.  The first night I tried to sleep but couldn't.  However by the second night, I was sleeping like a baby.  I miss that place so much!

Hi Myrl.  Metal roofs are popular here and the sound of rain is most peaceful.

I am so glad to say the tradewinds are blowing again here on Maui.  We sure do miss that.  Now the vog can blow away and things will dry out a little.  Happy New Year!

Hi Richard: Happy New Year to you too. I have been so busy I'm having a hard time finding time to read other people's blogs. I use to really enjoy it. I have been keeping up with my blog but sometimes I skipped a week. Here's to a prosperous &  healty New Year for all of us.

Richard how scenic, here we have lots of snow and more on the way.  Now would be a great time to visit your lovely island.

Have a great week.

Thanks for stopping by Renee and may you have clear skies ahead.

Jennifer-It would also be a great time to be in your area as long as I could watch the snow fall from inside without the need to go out in it.

Richard, when I head to the islands will you be sure to arrange for no rain?

Hi Ann.  I recommend you visit in the summer when it doesn't rain much and when it does, it's only for a few minutes then the sun is back out.
